N.J. Blight Test
1. Can something else be built on your property that would generate
more tax revenue for your town?
  • Would a bigger house generate more tax revenue?
  • Would condos generate more tax revenue?
  • Would a bigger business generate more tax revenue?
  • Would a hotel generate more tax revenue?
  • Would a big box retailer generate more tax revenue?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions your property
meets the statutory criteria for "blight" in New Jersey and is at risk of
being taken by Eminent Domain for the greater "public good".
2. Do you own a farm?
If you answered "yes" the state of New Jersey can seize your property
simply to preserve open space. See Machiavelli
3. Has your town flooded recently?
If you answered "yes" the state of New Jersey can seize your property
to alleviate the damage done by a natural disaster.
There are many more examples we could site, but these 3 show how absurd
our current state laws are. When your property is targeted by the politically
connected, you will lose what no one should have a right to take - your home,
your business, your property!
